Testimonials

Since working with Kelly, I have noticed a considerable improvement in my balance, stride length and power.  Kelly used a wide variety of tactics to work on each part of my game to develop my stride.  I especially found a huge improvement since using his overspeed and resistance training tactics.  On the ice, I feel stronger and more confident in my gap control and ability to close down opponents quicker.

By far the biggest improvement I feel I have made since skating with Kelly is the confidence in my skating ability.  From winning foot races or challenging bigger or stronger players with a better awareness of my balance and body control, Kelly has enhanced all areas of my game.  Overall, I strongly believe in Kelly’s knowledge of the game and his strategy to make advancements to a players skill level and skating ability.

I have worked with many skating coaches throughout my 7 year pro career and i can honestly say Kelly is as good as I have worked with. No matter your current level I believe that he will make you a faster and more efficient skater. He is flexible, hard working and a great motivator, which i believe when combined with his knowledge gives you an unmatched combination. It was a pleasure working with him this summer and i am looking forward to doing it again next summer.

Kelly’s knowledge and dedication prepared me for my upcoming NHL training camp. He helped me with my footwork and to gain that half a step I would need to compete at the highest level. This past summer was the first time I worked with Kelly and going forward his sessions will be an integral part of my off season training. Thanks Kelly!

Over the past summer I had two goals to accomplish before the start of my OHL career.  They were to get faster and to gain another 10 pounds.  I can say that I successfully accomplished both my goals with a lot of hard work and dedication. Kelly Reed not only helped me with my speed…….Kelly is definitely my #1 guy on the ice, without a doubt I can say he will succeed in helping you to reach your own goals too!!!!

As you play hockey and develop your skills, none is more important, to learn and teach properly than skating. Working with Kelly this past summer helped me get ready for training camp with the Montreal Canadiens and my upcoming season here with the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.  I feel and move better on the ice now than I have for many years.  Kelly’s knowledge, attention to detail, and work ethic are an invaluable asset in improving the skills necessary to compete in our great game.  His enthusiasm for the game and personal attention conveys what he is teaching in a professional, clear, caring, and fun way all good teachers should posses.

Kelly thanks again for all the work last summer, looking forward to next training season!

Kelly has been an invaluable instructor for me. He has helped make my overall skating more powerful and efficient. Through video, Kelly was able to break down my stride and show me some of the weaknesses I was experiencing. From here he was able to coach me both on and off the ice as to how I should alter my skating style to increase my power, agility and speed.

After returning to regular season play, it was easy for me to notice a huge improvement in my skating which has helped become a more effective player overall.

Thank you Kelly for making a real difference for me!

I was fortunate as a University Coach to have Kelly Reed play for me at the University of New Brunswick. He quickly became one of the Top University Players in Canada with much of his success being attributed to exceptional skating skills. Kelly was also recognized as one of our top on ice instructors during both our summer camps and in season skills camps. When I moved on to coach the Canadian National Team I made sure that Kelly was invited to our training camp in Calgary. This helped launch an aspiring career in Europe. I am confident that Kelly would be an excellent skills coach because of his background in the game both in Canada and also Internationally, and also his willingness over the last several years to study skating and skill development. Kelly is one of a few elite skating coaches in Canada and you can be assured that young athletes would definitely benefit from his skills and experience.
